Abstract (EN)
Quantitative sensory testing and thermal threshold evaluating is used in diagnosing small fiber sensory neuropathy and neuropathic pain. It was aimed to determine normal QST thermal threshold values and to compare the QST values of the normal controls and the patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who have not large fiber neuropathy. In this comparison, separating to the patients group according to LANNS points, it was also aimed to determine whether there were QST abnormalities-i.e small fiber involvement- in the group with low LANSS points. One hundered man and female normal subjects between 20-69 years old and 50 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus between 40-69 years old who were sended to our deparmant and EMG laboratory and in whom we couldn't determine clinical and electrophysiologic neuropathy were recruited.
