Abstract (EN)

In this study a case that inherits the combination of hot air blowing parallel to the surface and heating with embedded micro scale wire in glass is numerically simulated for a bus windshield. Both of these systems provides defogging by heating windshield over dew point temperature. Therefore simulation of defogging requires solution of heat transfer problem in windshield. By using finite difference method a computer program is written to perform heat transfer calculations. Results are obtained separately for the different boundary conditions and different values of electrical current provided to wires. Temperature distribution inside glass is shown for each result. Obtained surface temperature values are analyzed to see whether they exceed the dew point temperature or not.
