The research of Nurettin Topçu's book "Türkiye'nin Maarif Davası" in terms of values education

Values education, which has been the subject of many researches in Turkey in recent years, has not yet reached its full purpose in practice throughout the country. The main purpose of this study is to see the ideas that Nurettin Topçu reflected nationally and spiritually in today's values education and to show the applicability and applicability of these ideas to the values education program implemented in Turkey. In this study, Nurettin Topçu's "Türkiye'nin Maarif Davası" was examined in his book values. In the research, document analysis technique which is one of the qualitative research methods was used. Firstly, it was determined whether the values discussed in our study existed in the work. General values of Turkish National Education and Basic Law of National Education, Social Studies Course Teaching Program (2018), Secondary Education Turkish Language and Literature Course Teaching Program (2018), eleven values that are frequently discussed are separated and list of values is extracted. After the classification of values, the values in the work are arranged according to these values and given with the page numbers. Lastly, the frequency of the values examined in the work and the percentage slices within the existing values are transferred by using graphs and tables. As a result of the research, it was seen that Nurettin Topçu's work overlaps with the present values. The highest values of respect, compassion, justice and sacrifice were determined in the work. At least the values of generosity, honesty, equality and cooperation were determined. Based on the findings obtained from the study Nurettin Topçu's "Türkiye'nin Maarif Davası" is a work of "Values Education" in the conclusion that has been reached between resources to be utilized.
