Inverted structures in Nurullah Ataç`s essays

Abstract (EN)

In this work, we identified that there are inverted structures in Turkish word orderwhich is one of the subjects not adequately searched and we evaluated these structures fromdifferent aspects.We started our work by defining the inverted structures in Nurullah Ataç?s essays.After we had given information about context, method and material of thesis in theintroduction part of our work, we gave theoritical information which is related to invertedstructures directly or indirectly. We studied the inverted structures in three main topics asinversion in the word group level, the sentence level and in the logical level.We studied the sentence level inversions in our main topics as inversion incompound words, in verbal groups, in other word groups and in the idioms. Among these, westudied the inversion of noun, adjective, pronoun compound sentences in the inversion incompound sentences part and in the inversion in verbal groups part, we studied the inversionusage of deverbal noun groups, participle groups and gerund groups.In the sentence level inversion part, we sum up the inverted structures in two mainparts as simple sentence level inversion and compound sentence level inversion. Frım two ofthese, we investigated the simle sentence inversion in detail from different aspects: theinverted sentence as its common usage in Turkish word order. On the other hand, in theinversion compound sentences level part, we mentioned the compound sentences which canbe inverted. In the logical level inversion part, we investigated the inversion usage of reasonand result sentences.In the result of our work, we?ve seen that in Turkish there are different kinds ofinverted structure examples.Key Words: Turkey Turkish, sentax, inverted structure, anacoluthon, NurullahAtaç
