Abstract (EN)
It is of great importance that individuals who are in the future of society are educated well in terms of values in terms of raising them in all aspects. For this reason, value education is seen as an important part of educational activities at all educational levels and processes. In the Turkish Education System, the values that should be transferred to the individuals have been determined, especially in the compulsory education stages and processes. Some of these are values that are included in all educational levels and processes and are considered as root values in the curricula put into effect in 2018. The subject of this research, Republic of Turkish History of Revolution and Kemalism course the root values included in (Secondary School 8th Grade) curriculum are determined as justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism and helpfulness. Many methods and techniques can be used in the teaching and transfer of these values, and examples and literary works can be utilized. In this context, the use of literary works is of great importance and can be very effective. Republic of Turkish History of Revolution and Kemalism course the most important source work in terms of teaching and transferring the root values in the acquisitions in the Curriculum is Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's The Great Speech. This work has been published in different editions until today. The aim of this research is to publish the edition of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's The Great Speech titled Speech with Photographs for the Youth to Republic of Turkish History of Revolution and Kemalism is to examine in terms of root values in the course. For this purpose, the way of determining the root values and the parts that can be used for the root values in the work in question was followed. The research was carried out with descriptive analysis design, one of the qualitative research methods. Document analysis was used as the data collection method. Within the scope of his research, Speech with Photographs for the Youth was published by Republic of Turkish History of Revolution and Kemalism When examined in terms of all root values in the course, 334 value-text related content was reached. It is seen that all root values are included in the work, and the most common root values are patriotism, respect and justice. In addition, in the content of this work, it was concluded that there are sample texts that can be used in the teaching and transfer of all root values in all units of the Republic of Turkish History of Revolution and Kemalism Curriculum except Unit 1: A Hero Is Born, and that are included in the appendices of this research.
