Abstract (EN)

Scientifically, marbles defined as natural stones are formed by recrystallization as a result of alteration of natural formation rocks such as dolomite-containing limestones and limestone When viewed commercially, it is defined as easily polished, polishing, high strength rocks that can give blocks. The aim of this study is to determine the quality, physic-mechanical properties and chemical properties of marbles in the marble quarry in Antalya-Alanya region and to evaluate them according to TS Standards. Total porosity average was determined as %1.39. The composite value was found to be %98.61. Compressive strength was found as 150 MPa and flexural strength as 12.44 MPa. Water absorption value is determined as %0.30. As a result of cluster analysis using major oxides, trace elements and LOI values, Alanya dark smoked marble quarry has been found to be gathered under two classes.
