Özet (EN)

In the present study, which examined the role of type d personality, social connectedness and impulsivity in eating behaviors in obese women in the context of problem behavior theory, relational design, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The sample of the present study consists of female patients who applied to Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Hospital Obesity Center. 346 obese women participated in the study. Personal Information Form, Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (HYDA), Type D Personality Scale, Social Connectedness Scale and Barratt Impulsivity Scale-Short Form were used to collect the study data. The obtained data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 23. The relationship levels between the variables of the study were determined by Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient Technique. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed in order to determine the predictors of eating behaviors in obese women. As a result of the analyzes, a negative significant relationship was found between restrictive eating behavior, external eating behavior and not making plans. According to the regression analysis findings, not making plans is a significant predictor of restrictive eating. According to the research, a positive significant relationship was found between emotional eating and all sub-dimensions of impulsivity. Especially motor impulsivity is a significant predictor of emotional eating. According to the regression analysis findings of the research, negative affect was found to be a significant predictor of emotional eating, but the contribution of social introversion to the model was not found to be significant. Emotional eating and social connectedness showed a negative significant relationship. At the same time, according to the regression analysis results, social connectedness was found to be a significant predictor of emotional eating. There is a positive significant relationship between external eating behavior and motor impulsivity, negative affect and attention impulsivity. According to the regression analysis findings, negative affect, motor impulsivity and attention impulsivity are significant predictors of external eating. Keywords: Eating Behaviors, Type D Personality, Social Connectedness, Impulsivity.
