Effect of long term exercise on serum irisine and glucose metabolism with conjugated linoleic acid support on obese rats

The aim of study; Eight-week-old Sprague-Dawley, 28 male rats were randomly divided into four groups. All groups were obese with diet. The control group (n = 7) who continued feeding on daily diet and waited for eight weeks without any supplementation; the treadmill exercise group (n = 7) at 20 m / min / speed on the treadmill for five days for eight weeks; supplementation group (n = 7) given conjugated linoleic acid by single dose gavage (1 ml / day) daily for eight weeks in addition to daily diet nutrition; In addition to dietary nutrition, a single dose (1 ml / day) of conjugated linoleic acid was given by gavage for eight weeks and treadmill exercise was performed for 20 minutes / day for eight weeks (n = 7). At the end of the studies which lasted for 10 weeks with adaptation exercises for two weeks, blood samples were taken by decapitation of the rats. Irisin analysis in blood samples was prepared by ELISA method according to the kit procedure. Triglyceride, Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Insulin, Glucose and HOMA-IR levels of blood lipids were analyzed by spectrophotometric method in autoanalyser. Since the data showed normal distribution, one way anova test which is one of the parametric tests, was used to measure the difference between the groups.; As a result, treadmill exercise performed for 20 minutes 5 days a week for eight weeks has an effective role in glucose metabolism and regulation; It has been determined that using conjugated linoleic acid alone without exercise positively affects but there is no statistical significance, and positive differences were found on irisin and glucose metabolism of conjugated linoleic supplement with exercise.
