Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the relationship between obsessive beliefs, coping styles, and self-compassion with romantic relationship-oriented obsessive-compulsive symptoms and to determine whether these variables differ significantly according to various demographic variables. The sample of the research consists of 525 adults (421 women and 104 men), living in Turkey, having an ongoing romantic relationship and participating in the research through social media posts. Within the scope of the research, Demographic Information Form, Romantic Relationship Obsessions and Compulsions Scale, Obsessive Beliefs Questionnaire, Stress Coping Styles Inventory and Self-Compassion Scale were applied to the participants. IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0 program was used in the analysis of the data. Independent samples t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Kruskal-Wallis H test, and Pearson correlation analysis were used for analysis. As a result of the analyzes made, it was observed that the study variables differed significantly according to the demographic variables. Also, it was observed that there were relations between the research variables. As a result, there was a positive correlation between the sum of romantic relationship-oriented obsessive compulsive symptoms and obsessive beliefs, the helpless approach to coping with stress, and the submissive approach; it has been determined that there is a negative significant relationship between self-compassion, self-confident approach, optimistic approach and seeking social support. The findings were discussed in the light of the literature, clinical implications were discussed and suggestions for future studies were presented.
