Title: Episodic and Chronic Progression Is Related To Sociodemographic, Clinical, Temperament and Functioning, In Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Patients Aim and hypothesis: Aim of the study; epidemic and chronic OCD, sociodemographic characteristics, clinical, functional and temperament characteristics in a comparative way. There are four hypotheses to this work. Axis 1 and 2 are thought to be related to the clinical course of OCD. Compared with episodic and chronic course, it is thought that the chronic type may be associated with higher power loss due to persistent movement. It is thought that the temperament may be related to the clinical course of OCD. It is thought that the severity of OCD may be related to clinical course, comorbidity, temperament and function. Methods: The research is a cross-analytical work. Collection of research data was carried out between December 2016 and February 2017 at Aydın Adnan Menderes University Research and Practice Hospital Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic and Psychiatry Inpatient Patient Service. The universe of the study was all OCD patients who were admitted to the polyclinic or who were followed up to the clinic during the period of participating in the study. A total of 34 patients, 17 chronic and 17 episodic, were included in the study. All participants completed the Sociodemographic Clinical Data Form, the Structured Clinical Interview Scales for DSM-IV Axis Diagnosis (SCID-I and SCID-II), the Yale Brown Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Questionnaire (Y-BOCS), the Short Functionality Rating Scale and the Temps-A Temperament Scale . Type-1 error level is 5%. Findings: In the sociodemographic comparison of chronic and episodic patients; Treatment outcome and GAF scores. Epileptic patients have higher GAF scores when chronic patients are treated at higher rates. In the comparison of Y-BOCS scale of chronic and episodic patients; General obsessions, general compulsions and total scores, the scores of the chronic patient group are significantly higher than those of the episodic patients. In addition, chronic patients are clinically more severe than clinical evaluation. There is no significant difference between patient groups in terms of obsessive and compulsion types. In evaluating patients in terms of temperament; Depressive, cyclothymic and anxious temperament scores are significantly higher in chronic patients. There is no difference in terms of hyperthymic and irritable temperament scores. Functioning of chronic patients in all subjects except financial issues among patient groups is worse than episodic patients. There is no difference in financial matters. Results: In our study according to episodic course, chronic course of OCD is more associated with more obsessive and compulsive symptoms. Also in chronic course; more impairment in autonomy, occupational functioning, cognitive functioning, interpersonal relationships and leisure time functioning areas have been detected. These results suggest that chronic OCD has a heavier clinical course than Episodic OCD. In larger samples, there is a need for new treatments that can follow the treatment process and the clinical process.
