Abstract (EN)
Objective: İn this research we aim to compare socio-demographic, clinical, noropshycological aspects in schizophrenia patients with and without OCD comorbidity. Methods: In this research we recruit schizophrenia patients in Society Mental Health Center Outpatient Clinic of Ege University Medical Faculty Psychiatry Department.29 schizophrenia without OCD and 42 schizoohrenia with OCD assessed socio-demographic, clinical, social functionality, quality of life, noropshycological aspects. Severity of pshychotic semptoms evaluated with PANSS,clinical course with CGI, depression symptoms CDSS, drug side effects with Extrapyramidal Symptom Rating Scale, social functionality with Social Functionality Scale , quality of life with Asessment of Quality of Life in Schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive symptoms with Y-BCOS, noropshycological functionality with the Rey Auiditory-Verbal Learning test,Stroop test,Verbal Fluency Test, Wechsler Visual Memory Scale,Trail Making Test B. Results: We include in this study 29 schizophrenia and schizophrenia with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder patients. Significant differences were found between two groups in terms of gender whereas there were not found differencation in age, total education time, monthly income, marital status, social ensurance. As clinical feautures compared there was not significant differancation in age of onset disease, total duration disease, emergence of the first psycthotic symptom, number and duration of hospitalization, suicide attempt history, violence acting, having a legal problem, pshychiatric family history and smoking between the groups. But released that patients in Schizophrenia-Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder group has more drug and dose use and more drug combination. İf compared due to the total PANSS scores patients in Schizophrenia with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder group has more positive pshycotic sympthoms, negative pshycotic sympthoms and significantly higher total pshycopatologic scores. Due to CGI found that disease severity scores was significantly high whareas there was not significantly statistical differencation between recovery and drug side effects. Extrapyramidal side effects when evaluated, it was seen that have significantly more side effects in patients with schizophrenia with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder group. In terms of social functioning there was no significant statistical differencation between two groups, considering the quality of life scores of patients with schizophrenia group were significantly higher. There was not detected statistically significant differences in neuropsychological tests between the two groups. Conclusion: In this study, comorbid obsessive-compulsive symptoms in schizophrenia the possible negative effects on clinical presentation of the disease, neuropsychological areas and functioning were searched. It is still unclear whether this relationship a component of schizophrenia or a comorbidity. Necessery to be held more prospective works, with the ability to represent clinical sample in the future. As a result of these studies can be better understood and effective treatment options for sch which is difficult to treat and creates devastations in person's life.
