Özet (EN)

Objective: Nowadays, the concepts of trauma, attachment and resilience have started to be investigated in relation to some mental illnesses, which have become increasingly important. One of the chronic mental disorders that we consider important in this regard is obsessive-compulsive disorder. This study will be a comprehensive study investigating the relationship between childhood traumas, attachment style, and psychological resilience with symptom severity and symptomatology in patients diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder in our country. In our study, we aimed to investigate the effects of childhood traumas, attachment style and psychological resilience on OCD severity and subgroups and on OCD severity in obsessive-compulsive disorder.Method: 102 OCD patients who were diagnosed with SCID-5 interview, accepted to participate in our study and met the inclusion criteria in the Psychiatry Clinic of Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital were included as the sample. In addition to the Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsion Scale (YBOCS), Childhood Traumas Scale, Adult Attachment Style Scale and Psychological Resilience Scale were used in the study. The relationship between OCD severity and sociodegmographic characteristics, characteristics of the disease, childhood traumas, attachment style and psychological resilience was investigated using t test, Mann Whitney test, Kruskal Wallis test and post hoc Tukey B test in multiple comparisons. Pearson analysis was used to determine the relationship between OCD severity scores and other scale scores. In the later stage of our analysis, regression analysis was applied to find the severity of OCD and the final predictive variables of the subgroups. Results: Education level and psychological resilience levels were negatively correlated with OCD severity; It has been found that family members / living in an extended family are positively correlated with OCD severity. It was also found that there was a relationship between anxious / ambivalent attachment and autogenous subgroup. On the other hand, childhood traumas were not found to be associated with OCD severity and subgroups. Conclusion: These results reveal new treatment targets for mental health professionals. The first thing that comes to mind about psychological resilience is the factors that affect it. Within the concept of resilience, it is an important step to consider and evaluate the factors related to self-perception, severity of symptoms, one by one. For this reason, it is recommended that more attention should be given to not only the psychopathology of the disease, but also the psychological resilience and self-perception of the patients, and more comprehensive evaluations should be made during the mental state examination. In addition, it needs to be supported by studies with large samples in which attachment style in OCD patients may affect OC subgroups. Keywords: Obsessive-compulsive disorder, childhood trauma, adult attachment style, psychological resilience
