Abstract (EN)
Objective:This study was conducted in order to test the reliability and validity of Obstetric Triage Acuity Scale (OTAS), evaluate the effectiveness of the application. Method:This study is composed of two parts methodologically. In the first chapter; The validity-reliability study of the Obstetric Triage Acuity Scale was performed with 10 triage nurses and 160 obstetric emergency scenarios. In the second stage; The evaluation of the effectiveness of the obstetric triage acuity scale was performed with 350 women. The data were collected using the Personal Features Questionnaire and the Obstetrics Triage Acuity Scale. Data were evaluated by using kappa, chi-square and spearman correlation analysis. Results:In the internal validity analysis of Obstetric Triage Acuity Scale, in terms of language expression item content index was found as 0.983 and scale content index was 0.863. Obstetrics Triage Acuity Scale was found as simple kappa: 0.795 and weighted kappa: 0.918.The triage evaluation performed by the triage staff and the results of the triage evaluation performed with Obstetric Triage Acuity Scale were found to be a positive and positive correlation with 0.588 (chi-square = 154.360, p <.0001). Conclusion:Obstetrics Triage Acuity Scale is a reliable and valid instrument. When the comparison of the Ministry of Health Compulsory Triage Scale with the and the Obstetric Triage Acuity Scale categorization were compared, it was determined that the triage nurse gave a lower triage category than the Obstetric Triage Acuity Scale categorization. There was a positive and statistically significant relationship between the Ministry of Health Compulsory Triage Scale and Obstetric Triage Acuity Scale performed by triage nurses. The Obstetric Triage Acuity Scale is a five-category triage tool suitable for use in the triage section of the emergency department. Key words: obstetric triage, obstetric triage acuity scale, triage
