Relatıonshıp between level of ouas and right ventrıcul systolıc - dıastolıc functıon

Aim: In this study, patients who have been diagnosed OUAS illness searched according to nominated illness of AHI magnitude relations between right ventricul systolic and diastolic disfunctions.Method: Between the March 2009 and September 2010 patients were guided the sleep centre of the Dokuz Eylül Univesity. 50 OUAS diagnosed patients participated in this study. The participants were informed about the study the experimental procedure and included form of demographical information about patients. General system physical consultation (check up-phiscal examination), weight and height measurement were made and TTE were implemented.Results: It was evaluated that 20% of patients minor OUAS, 18% of patients middle OUAS, and 62% of patients critical OUAS. In this study, according to the E/A value were showed that diastolic dysfunctions it was decreased in minor group of patient to the critical group of patient. The index avarage which shows both systolic and diastolic dysfunctions in right ventricul, it was increased towards the slightly groups to the serious OUAS group.Conclusion: In this study, it was seen deformation in right ventricul systolic and/or diastolic dysfunctions when the severity of illness increased in OUAS. OUAS was established risk in cardiac angle. And the TTE were helpful in assesing the effects on cardiac parameters.Key Words: Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, transthoracic echocardiography, pulmonary artery pressure, right ventricular systolic and diastolic dysfunction
