The location of the credit card in the payment system anda research on the cred?t card usage behaviors of university students

This work which researches university students? behaviors of credit card usagediscusses this topic within three parts.In the first part, the content and the constraints of the research is determined bythe help of the subjects which are the main goal of the research that include the effectsof credit card usage on university students such as their consumption manners,refundsand attitudes.In the second part, credit card is thought to be both an ultimate product andmeans of payment which intervenes consumption and this is also discussed within twoparts.Firstly, consumption, demand, request, consumer, consumer?s behaviors and thethe factors which affect consumer?s behaviors are elaborated. Then, payment terms andmeans of payment are emphasized and the usage of credit cards in the world and inTurkey are surveyed.Lastly,the second part is completed by focusing on the positive,negative and legal dimensions of the credit cards and while doing this all workplace,user and the bank are taken into account.In the third part, the field research (applied on 685 students who study ingoverment and private universities in ?stanbul, ?zmir, Ankara) is evaluated to reach thegoal. According to the findings which are aquired in this research;- 56,05% of the university students are female, 43,95% of them are male.- 92,6% of the university students are using a credit card, 7,4% of them are notusing.- 53% of the students who don?t use credit cards think that credit cards directthem to over-consuming and 23,5% of them think that it leads to their spendingthe money which they haven?t earned yet.vii- 53,4 of the university students pay their loan in full and on expiry date , 21% ofthem pay the minimal amount on expiry date, 12,9% of them pay a portion oftheir loan on expiry date and pay the rest later and 2,7% of them don?t even paythe minimal amount at all.- Female credit card user are more pleased to use the credit card than male users.By the help of this research the university students? behaviors of credit cardusage and also their state of consumption are determined.
