A study of the common spaces in student dormitories in terms of space quality

This study aimed to present a general theoretical framework about student dormitories in Turkey in general and specifically, and to explain a real example of one of these dormitories and to what extent it has been applied to approved Turkish standards for this service sector. The primary purpose of this study is to measure the satisfaction levels of the students of Ateş Corner Student Dormitory (ACÖY) regarding their physical, psychological and social characteristics. The study consists of four main parts. In the first chapter, there is a general introduction to the subject of the research, the purpose, questions and importance of the research. The second part deals with the general theoretical framework that provides a comprehensive understanding of the dormitories. The third chapter deals with the current state of use, theoretical and spatial definitions of the student dormitory under investigation. The fourth section reviews the proposal for a highly efficient student dormitory that many dormitory investment projects might suggest. As a result of the study, it has been determined that the student dormitory applies most of the general standards at the international level, except for some luxury elements, and the satisfaction levels of the students with the physical, psychological and social features of the dormitory are at a satisfactory level. Researchers working on this subject are advised to provide information about the unmet psychological, social and physical requirements of dormitory administrations as examined in this study, and to conduct annual or quarterly periodic meetings with students staying in dormitories. However, it is recommended that studies be carried out on student dormitories that include periodic viii review of complaints and expectations and involving as many relevant authorities as possible to provide greater efficiency and convenience for student guests.
