Abstract (EN)

Based on the fact that learning is an intellectual process, it may be important to determine the types of analogies created in terms of learning styles. The aim of this study is to determine among the learning styles of the analogies created by the teacher candidates. The sample of the study consists of approximately 60 teacher candidates studying in Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University, Faculty of Education, Department of Classroom Teaching. In this study, descriptive research model was used. In this study, the Vermunt Learning Styles Inventory with 120 questions was used. In order to determine the characteristics of Vermunt learning, he defined four different dimensions: "Learning orientations, editing strategies, processing strategies, mental models of learning." Types of analogies created by pre-service teachers considering the use and function of analogies; Four different genres were determined, namely simple, story style, gamified and painting analogy. As a result of the research, the types of analogies prepared by the teacher candidates in terms of learning styles were determined. It has been determined that pre-service teachers generally create simple and story-style analogies. Keywords: Analogy, Learning styles, Science education
