Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to determine whether students attending 4th grade of an elementary school in a province of Eastern Anatolia and their attitudes towards writing together with learning activities and their effect on academic achievement. Quantitative research design was used to collect the data of the study. The study group consisted of 100 4th grade students. Before the start of the activities, the experimental and control groups were administered the YYTÖ and ABT. Subsequently, the "Substance and Change" unit was processed in both groups. While the experimental group students wrote letters, the control group students wrote a summary. At the end of the unit, the YYTÖ and ABT were applied as posttest in both groups. Data analysis was analyzed using SPSS program. In the results of the study, while there was a significant result in favor of the experimental group in the academic achievement test, no significant difference was found between the pre-test and post-test scores of writing attitude scale. Based on all these results, suggestions for field studies related to other studies are presented.
