An examination of the relationship between individual innovativeness levels and social entrepreneurship characteristics of prospective teachers

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between individual innovativeness levels and social entrepreneurship characteristics of candidate teachers. The study was conducted on a total of 342 candidate teachers, 274 female and 68 male. Within the scope of the study, "Individual Innovation Scale" developed by Hurt, Joseph and Cook (1977) and adapted into Turkish by Kılıçer and Odabaşı (2010) and the "Social Entrepreneurship Characteristics Scale of Candidate Teachers" developed by Konaklı and Göğüş (2013) were used as data collection tools. In the study conducted with the relational survey model, the data were analyzed with t-test, ANOVA and Pearson Moment Coefficient techniques. According to the findings obtained from the data analysis conducted at the end of the research; it was determined that the social entrepreneurship characteristics of candidate teachers showed significant differences according to the department they studied. In addition, it was found that the degree to which candidate teachers like their departments showed significant differences in both individual innovativeness and all sub-dimensions of social entrepreneurship. In addition, a significant difference was found between formation students and education faculty students in terms of all variables. It was found that the total score and sub-dimensions of social entrepreneurship differed significantly according to individual innovativeness categories. When the relationships between the variables were examined, it was found that there were positive and significant relationships between the individual innovativeness levels of teacher candidates and the total score of social entrepreneurship and all of the sub-dimensions of social entrepreneurship.
