Abstract (EN)

This study was planned and carried out in accordance with the descriptive screening model in order to analyze whether there is a difference between the levels of digital literacy of teachers and teacher candidates. The population of the study consisted of students studying at Sakarya University Faculty of Education and teachers working in Esenyurt, Kıraç and Beylikdüzü districts of Istanbul. Datas were collected by simple random sampling method. İn the study, the 'digital literacy scale ' developed by Kıyıcı(2008) was used. The scale consists of two parts. The first part consists of a personal information form. As for in the second part, the statements that teachers and teacher candidates can realise in terms of digital literacy were given place to. İn the study collected data from a total of 414 people impending 214 teachers and 200 teacher candidates. İn the analysis of the datas, from SPSS 21.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) program was used. Frequency analysis, arithmetic mean, percentage and standard deviation statistical techniques were used in the data obtained. The digital, computer, information, technology and media literacy levels of teachers and teacher candidates were found to be above average after analysis of the data. As a result of the research, digital literacy levels of the teachers were higher than the teacher candidates.
