Abstract (EN)

This Master Thesis was conducted to reveal the factors affecting the attitudes of sophomore and senior teacher candidates in Bayburt University Faculty of Education towards plastic arts. The universe of the study comprises sophomore and senior students of primary school education department in Bayburt University. Out of this universe, 646 teacher candidates participated in this study. For data collection, a demographic form and an attitude scale was used. Quantitative data was analyzed via SPSS. The obtained data was analyzed through frequency analysis (f), percentages (%), standard deviation (S), t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that gender of the teacher candidates, their reading habits, their interest in any branch of art, their academic experience on art before university and their reading habits on art were the influential factors on their attitudes towards plastic arts. Furthermore it is found that teacher candidates have attitudes towards plastic arts. Based on these results, it is suggested that plastic arts education and applications should take place more at the universities. Keys Words: Art, plastic arts, teacher candidates, attitude.
