Preservice teachers' lifelong learning, information literacy, artificial intelligence literacy, and individual entrepreneurial orientations

This study aims to examine pre-service teachers' lifelong learning, information literacy, artificial intelligence literacy, and individual entrepreneurial orientation. The study group consists of a total of 556 pre-service teachers—408 female and 148 male—studying at the Faculty of Education at Trakya University during the 2023–2024 academic year. To collect the research data, the Personal Information Form, Lifelong Learning Scale, Information Literacy Scale, Artificial Intelligence Literacy Scale, and Individual Entrepreneurial Orientation Scale were utilized. Data analyses were conducted using IBM SPSS Version 23. In the evaluation of the data, descriptive statistics, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), simple correlation, multiple regression, and mediation modeling techniques were employed. The results indicated that pre-service teachers' lifelong learning scores did not differ significantly based on gender or year of study, but showed a significant difference according to department. Information literacy scores did not significantly differ based on gender, department, or year of study. Artificial intelligence literacy scores did not vary by gender or department but demonstrated a significant difference based on year of study. Individual entrepreneurial orientation scores showed a significant difference by gender, while no significant differences were found based on department or year of study. Furthermore, significant relationships were found among the scale scores. It was determined that information literacy and individual entrepreneurial orientation predicted lifelong learning, whereas artificial intelligence literacy did not. However, it was also found that information literacy and individual entrepreneurial orientation had a mediating effect on the relationship between artificial intelligence literacy and lifelong learning.
