Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is primarily to determine the community health in vocational schools. Educational organisations are institutions which are human centred and produce service. Taking proper and consistent decisions in the administration of educational organisations in which humans and service are predominantly at hand, the knowledge and abilities of administrators about the management are as concerned as the provision of the community health at favourable levels.Community health is the organisation?s having an effective leadership, a unity in itself, an efficient interaction with inner and outer environment, having a certain identity and maintaining a development and improvement in time by raising healthy individuals Community health is crucial in that it reflects the climate, the culture and the efficiency of the schools, further giving information to the school administrators about their schools. Therefore, school administrators can sometimes examine the community health in their schools and do some improvements if there are functionless sub systems. If some changes are necessary, then to what extent those changes will be should be determined. To identify these extents, it is necessary to benefit from the community health standards. The purpose of this study is to figure out the opinions of teachers and administrators working in vocational schools in Kartal district, Istanbul about the community health aspects (organisational leadership, organisational unity, environmental interaction, organisational identity and organisational product), to reveal the effects of the problems between teachers, administrators and school principal, and to be a good example for the community health of the school. To bring out the teachers? comments on the community health , Altun?s (1997) Community Health Chart was used. Findings were gathered with the help of field research about the five aspects of the community health. The opinions of teachers and administrators working in vocational schools in Kartal district, Istanbul about the community health aspects (organisational leadership, organisational unity, environmental interaction, organisational identity and organisational product) were revealed.
