The effect of school principles' 21st century skills on organizational climate according to teachers' perceptions

This study aims to examine the impact of school administrators' 21st-century skills on organizational climate based on teachers' perceptions, considering various variables. A quantitative survey design was employed, with a sample of 369 teachers working in primary and secondary school sunder the Ministry of Education in Tokat provinceduringthe 2023-2024 academic year. The sample was selected using convenience sampling.Data were collected using the '21st-Century SkillsScale' andthe 'Organizational Climate Scale.' Analyses were conducted using SPSS 24. Skewness and kurtosis values with in the ±1 rangeindicated a normal distribution of total scores, justifying the use of parametric tests (t-test, correlation, regression, etc.). Relationships between sub-dimensions of the scales were examined using Pearson's Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient.Findings revealed that teachers' perceptions of administrators' 21st-century skills were generally positive and balanced. While limited differences were observed based on variables like age, gender, and education level, effectsizes were small. Teachers perceived thes chool climate as predominantly authoritarian and structural, with supportive and collegial relationship sperceived at limitedlevels. Strong, significant correlations were found between 21st-century skills and organizational climate. Administrators' possession of these skills enhanced teachers' positive perceptions of the school environment. Regression analyses further confirmed 21st-century skills as a significant predictor of climate perception.Future studies should adoptmixed methods and exploreadditional variables (e.g., school culture, leadership style, teacher burn out). Practical recommendation sinclude training administrators in digital leadership and media literacy, fostering teacher collaboration, redefining leadership competencies, and tailoring management strategies to teachers' individual needs and characteristics."
