The obstacles/problems faced on teacher-director relations among Kağıthane district public and private-owned primary and high schools

The purpose of this research is to study on the problems faced between teachers and directors realtions among both public and private-owned primary and high schools of Kagithane DistricyThe scope of the research consists of directors and teachers working in 48 public primary schools, 10 public high schools and 1 private-owned primary school of Kagithane District of Istanbul City. Sampling covers 230 teachers and 70 directors from above mentioned schools. Totally 268 teachers questionnaire and 30 directors questionnaire are submitted and 42 teachers questionnaire and 8 director questionnaire are not received back. The information about the questionnaire is given below.The synthesis of the data is done using arithmetic mean , t-test , variance analysis , ki-square , kolmogorov-smirnov analysises.It is observed that teachers? sex variable has a significant difference for the ideas of the teachers on the communication obstacles between teacher and school principal. It is concluded that male teachers think that they have more problems compared to their female colleagues.It is observed that the problems between principal-teacher problems are considered more by the directors with a seniority of 1-5 years compared to the directors with 5-10 years of seniority. In parallel , the directors with 15-20 years seniority consider more communication problems compared to the directors with 5-10 years seniority.It is observed that the existence of communication training in the background of teachers plays a significant differentiation on their ideas about the problems. When the differentiation studied in details, it is understood that the teachers who had communication training consider the problems less severe compared to the teachers who did not have the training. It is also observed that the existence of Management training for directors in their background has a significant impact on their thinking about the problems. It is seen that the directors equipped with management training have more tolerance on their attitudes as they have better and wider knowledge of the problems.
