Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the impact of administrator attitudes valuing teachers on teachers' perceptions of organizational cynicism. Conducted within the framework of a correlational survey model, the study analyzes the effects of administrators' attitudes towards teachers on the levels of cynicism teachers develop towards their organizations. The population of the research consists of teachers working in public secondary schools in the Sancaktepe district of Istanbul during the 2024–2025 academic year. The sample comprises 403 randomly selected teachers. Data were collected using the "Administrator Attitudes Valuing Teachers Scale" and the "Organizational Cynicism Scale" and were analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analyses using the SPSS program. The findings of the study reveal that administrator attitudes valuing teachers negatively affect the cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions of organizational cynicism. The strongest relationship was observed in the cognitive dimension (r = -0.583, p < 0.01). According to the results of the regression analysis, administrator attitudes valuing teachers account for 36.9% of the total variance in organizational cynicism. No significant differences were found based on demographic variables; however, a partial relationship was observed between years of service and administrator attitudes. It has been found that administrator attitudes that value teachers are effective in reducing teachers' perceptions of organizational cynicism. These findings emphasize that school administrators should respect teachers' opinions, appreciate their efforts, and make fair decisions while ensuring equal treatment. Additionally, supporting teachers' professional development, making them feel trusted, and fostering an open and sincere communication environment contribute to increasing teachers' trust in their institutions, thereby reducing organizational cynicism.
