Relationship between teachers' fellowship, job satisfaction and organizational peace

Abstract (EN)
It is vital for organizations that all the stakeholders should work in peace, be satisfied by their job and have positive relationship with their workplace friends. Today, many companies try to build a peaceful and healthy working environment as these are as much important as financial income for workers. In literature it is clearly stated that workplace friends increases job efficiency if they feel happy and peaceful for being and working together. However, communication among these workplace friends is also vital because they spend much time than they do with their own family members. Moreover, there is a close relationship between workplace friendship and job satisfaction. Building up good friendship at workplace increases job satisfaction while decreasing tendency for leaving job. Organizational culture, formed by happy and highly motivated individuals, is also a vital parameter in realizing organizational goals and preventing entrophy. Friendship and job satisfaction are leading variables in maintaining organizational peace. Prior to the findings of the study, teachers' points for friendship chance, dominant friendship and general friendship are high level; being suitable for standarts, desire for development and total job satisfaction are high level; while personal peace, relational peace and general peace points are intermediate whereas peace-breakers are low level. Teachers' perception for workplace friendship does not differentiate prior to gender, branch, faculty type, degree, year or teaching duration; while a significant difference was determined between primary and secondary teachers' friendship chance. The main purpose of this research is to investigate the possible relation between teachers' fellowship, job satisfaction and organizational peace. This research is a descriptive study which was done in relational screening model. The universe of this research consists of the teachers teaching in Turkey during 2019-2020 academic year. As for the sample of the research, 541 teachers were selected by using cluster sampling method from the universe. The research data was collected through data collection tools that exist and that was developed appropriately for the purpose of the research. When analyzing the research data; descriptive statistical calculations, appropriate analysis methods for independent groups in the analyzes to be done in terms of independent variables were used. In addition, a multiple regression model was used to determine the relationship between variables and to make predictions and estimates by using this relation. It is expected that by means of this study, trying to reveal the possible relationship between teachers' fellowship, job satisfaction and organizational peace contributes to its field by providing information on the current situation to the decision-makers in order to improve the efficiency of practitioners and to develop suggestions. AMOS, LISREL and SPSS were used to test models and analyze data. Prior to the findings of the study, teachers' points for friendship chance, dominant friendship and general friendship are higher than mean; being suitable for standarts, desire for development and total job satisfaction are also higher than mean; while personal peace, relational peace and general peace points are at mean whereas peace-breakers are below mean. Teachers' perception for workplace friendship does not differentiate prior to gender, branch, faculty type, degree, year or teaching duration; while a significant difference was determined between primary and secondary teachers' friendship chance. Teachers' perception for job satisfaction differentiates significantly prior to gender, branch, faculty type, degree and year; whereas it does not differs in terms of type of school and teaching duration. Finally, teachers' perception for organizational peace differs significantly prior to gender, branch, degree and type of school; however does not differ in terms of faculty type or teaching duration. Moreover, there are positive but weak relationship between workplace friendship and job-satisfaction and organizational peace; while, on the other hand, positive and strong relationship between workplace friendship and organizational peace. It has also been revealed that job satisfaction is partially a moderator in relationship between workplace friendship and organizational peace. It can be concluded that workplace friendship affects teachers' perception for organizational peace both directly and indirectly through job satisfaction. It can be stated that workplace friendship and job satisfaction are important to increase organizational peace. Key words: Fellowship at work, job satisfaciton, workplace peace, teacher.
