The evaluation of the workshop about informing the teachers on the subject of critical thinking

This research is an experimental study to carry out the teachers? level of knowledge about critical thinking and its training. It also includes a declarative critical thinking workshop devoted to teachers, and the evaluation of the workshop?s efficiency in terms of changes at the level of teachers? critical thinking knowledge and application. The study involves five main parts as, Introduction, Literary Review, Methodology, Findings and Discussions, and also Results and Suggestions.During the research the work of Critical Thinking Workshop formed as two days and six hours applies to 20 research group teachers. Critical thinking is studied according to both the teachers? professional experiences including critical thinking training and application to school administrative work and social life. On the scope of the research, The Critical Thinking Questionnaire I and II aimed to evaluate the efficiency of the workshop are prepared and applied. The distribution and the average of the teachers? answers are reached as units and percentage. The statistical mean of the distribution of the teachers? answers is tested by Chi-Squared Homogeny Test. Moreover, Wilcoxon?s Signed Rank Test is utilized to define, statistically, any changes on the answers of the questions in the questionnaire obtained during pre and post application. The open ended questions are evaluated according to the terminology and the knowledge reviewed the related literature.In the research, in light of the data acquired, it can be pointed out that there is a considerable increase in teachers? knowledge on critical thinking after the workshop in respect to their knowledge before, and in parallel with this, that the workshop contributed to the teachers? awareness and level of importance on critical thinking and its training. Thanks to this research, it can be accepted that the need for developing in-service trainings to illuminate the teachers on critical thinking in terms of both knowledge and abilities and also applying these well prepared trainings to the teachers became evident.
