Relationship between teacher's demographic properties, self efficacy perceptions and experiences with completion rates in on-line training activities: A case in Samsun

Abstract (EN)
The main objective of this study is to determine the relationship between teachers' individual characteristics, self efficacy perceptions and experiences with course completion rates who participated to the in-service education activities that presented in online media. In the direction of the main objective, possible relationships were researched on course completion rates with teachers?; Age, Gender, General self-efficacy perceptions, Online technologies self efficacy perceptions, In-service year, Branch, Computer using period and Internet using periodThe study was carried out by general survey method. In order to collect data, a 58 item questionnaire including 3 sections was designed, by referring expert views and the related literature. The questionnaire was applied to the teachers who participated to the in-service training activities served by Ministry of Education that presented in online media, in Samsun. In this study 376 of 1838 teachers replied the questionnaire. On analyzing the data not only the frequency distribution and percentage calculation but also Ki- kare, Tukey HSD and One Way Anova Tests are used.At the end of the research, on statistical way the relationship between course completion rates with gender, branch and in service year has a significant effect. The self efficacy perception and computer using period have an important significant effect with course completion rates. Internet using period and online technologies self efficacy perception have a very important significant effect with course completion rates. On the other hand the teachers' ages didn't show a significant effect on course completion rates that presented in online media.According to the research results, it is understood that choosing the audience is very important to make the in-service training activities effective, productive, attractive and continuous, that served to the teachers in online media. In addition, it is understood that to make the training activities successfully it is important to choose the most appropriate teachers for the training activities and a preliminary course should be organised to prepare the teachers who are not ready for the training activities.
