Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine whether psychological burnoutdiffer in teachers controlling for the effect of loneliness in business life and social support variables. In this study, it was also checked whether burnout levels differ by gender and marital status interaction, controlled for the effect of psychological resilience, loneliness and social support variables in work life. Factorial design was used in the study.The population of the study consists of the teachers working in schools and institutions within the Ministry of National Education in Gümüşhane city center. The sample consisted of 392 teachers. Of these 203 were female, 189 male and 316 married and 76 single. Personal Information Form, Maslach Burnout Inventory-Trainer Form, Psychological Endurance Scale, Loneliness Scale in Work Life and Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale were used for the data collection purposes. SPSS 22 program was used for the analysis of the data and Covariance Analysis (ANCOVA) was used for the statistical analysis. At the end of the study, a significant difference was found between the psychological resilience and burnout levels of the teachers. However, as psychological resistance was controlled, it was seen that burnout levels did not differ according to gender, marital status and gender-marital status interaction. On the other hand, significant differences were found between perceived social support and burnout levels of teachers. When the perceived social support was controlled, it was found that burnout levels differed according to gender variable. However, according to the marital status and gender-marital status interaction, the differences were not significant. As another finding of the study, there was a significant difference in teacher burnout according to loneliness. The findings indicated that as loneliness in business life was controlled, burnout levels did not differ according to gender, marital status and gender-marital status interaction. In line with the results, training seminars, psycho-education and group counseling services should be provided by the experts to decrease the burnout, decrease psychological resilience and perceived social support and also decrease the loneliness levels of teachers in the workplace.
