Examination of the relationship between teachers' psychological resilience and organizational dedication

Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between teachers' psychological resilience and their organizational dedication. In this quantitative research, correlation analysis method was performed to answer the research question. In addition, the target population for the study was the teachers from both public and private schools affiliated to the Turkish Ministry of National Education from Aksu, Serik and Manavgat from Antalya district. The sample of the study was 527 participants who are chosen by simple random sampling technique. Moreover, the instruments used were "Personel Information Form", was prepared by the researcher and "Psychological Resilence Scale for Adults", created by Friborg et.al , and translated by Basim and Cetin, and "Teacher's dedication to Educational Organizations" by Celep. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, median and standard deviation were calculated. T-test and LSD statistical methods were used in the quantitative analysis of the data and it was done done in the analysis software SPSS 24. Correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between teachers' resilience and their organizational dedication. The variables of interests, teachers' psychological resilience and their organizational dedication were inspected according to participants sex, experience as teacher, the number of years worked in the current school, the type of school, the level of school, the sociol-economic background of the school district, the level of support that school administrators have towards creating social and cultural activities. As a result of the research, it was determined that the teachers' psychological resilience and organizational dedication were at a high level. After the analysis, a significant positive and moderate correlation between teachers' psychological resilience and their organizational dedication was found. Although, there wasn't a significant difference between teachers' psychological resilience in terms of sex, experience, the number of years worked in the school, school type, the level of the school, sociol-economic background of the school district, there was a significant difference between teachers' psychological resilience and administrators willingness to support social and cultural activities. Likewise, there wasn't a significant difference between teachers' organizational dedication in terms of sex, experience, the number of years worked in the school, school type, the level of the school, sociol-economic background of the school district, but there was a significant difference between teachers' organizational dedication and administrators willingness to support social and cultural activities. As a result, an in-service training program can be prepared to help teachers adapt to the school climate, strengthen their sense of belonging to the school, increase their psychological resilience and organizational dedication.
