Teachers' opinions on the applicability of the new curriculum in the Turkish century education model

This study analyzes the views of teachers regarding the applicability of the comprehensive new curriculum within the scope of the Turkey Century Education Model. The successful implementation of educational policies depends not only on the theoretical infrastructure but also on the experiences and evaluations of the projects. Perceptions, opportunities and challenges regarding this structural new curriculum constitute the basic focus points in this learning. The research was conducted within the framework of the qualitative research method, and interviews were conducted with semi-interviews with data collection process lessons. The obtained data were evaluated with the descriptive analysis method and attitudes, expectations and problems towards the new curriculum were determined. The research largely reveals the student-centered approach and flexible learning environments of the new curriculum. However, it was concluded that teachers have some reservations about the applicability of the curriculum; improvements should be made especially in teacher training, in-class application opportunities and current education infrastructure. This study aims to provide important data to decision-makers and implementers who shape education policies regarding the effective implementation of the new curriculum. It is emphasized that taking teachers' views into consideration is of critical importance for the sustainable development of the education system.
