Abstract (EN)

Seals also known as tamgas have been using by Turkish communities as a characteristic sign from the beginning of prehistoric period that exists with lack of any literary record in human history. A number of tamgas have established the Runic Alphabet which is the first Alphabet of Turkish societies, a few of the rest ones have been tranformed into motifs and revealed by time in objects as carpets, rugs and architectural pieces. Tamgas beyond the features of distinctiveness and adornment, they come about with being primary resources that reflect the living belongs to group from the perspective of social, cultural, philosophical and mythological understanding. In this study, author comprehended the main idea that Tamgas that are essential components of the Turkish culture might be evaluated via approach of art. Due to fact that, assorted unique design figures are composed and applied in various fields via inspirated by 24 tamgas of Oghuz Turks. In the range of study, significance of the tamgas and influence on everday life for Turkish and Oghuz societies are described, 24 tamgas that known as belongs to Oghuz and applications are demonstrated by detailed. In addition to that, practises within art and craft in existing literature are served and supported via visual materials. Arranged figures inspirated by Oghuz tamgas are presented with applications within the following areas: textile, ceramic based products and drawing field.
