Abstract (EN)

OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System is a holistic and systematic management approach coordinated, planned and carried out for helping organizations to achieve the objectives of both economic and occupational health. This management approach is carried out within a system. The main aim of occupational health and safety management systems standard is being preventive. However, although the system is installed on the prevention, it includes necessary control mechanisms corrective actions and feedback mechanisms. The importance of occupational health and safety system is better understood when we consider the humanitarian and economic dimensions of work-related accidents in our country.On the other hand ISO 14001 environmental management system is a risk-analysis based management model which aims reducing the use of natural resources, minimizing the damage which has revealed in the soil, water and air. The ISO 14001 is not a product standard, it is a system standard and concerns with how is the product produced rather than what is produced. This standard is based on the basis of continual improvement of environmental performance monitoring and stipulates that complying with the conditions defined by law and relevant legislation in relation to environmental factorsIn this study, The OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System is described in detail. The relationship between these two management systems which is based on the same principle as the basic, examined in an organization that carries out these two management systems in an integration and supported by concrete data.
