Abstract (EN)

The reconstruction of industrial society to modern day information society form, variation in the nature of labour, and the domination of information technologies through production process; has resulted in the variation in nature of risk. This variation means where people can live together to identify potential problems and gain a pro-active approach to solve these problems, before having any possible losses.The objective of Work Health and Safety Management Systems becoming wideaspread around the world, is the requirement to a documentation and standartization for work safety and health issues. Besides the legislation brought into force by government, international standarts such as OHSAS 18001 play an important role in improving work safety and health data in a country. Turkish Cement Corporation is one of the leading industries around the world, and ÇEİS carries on OHSAS 18001 studies in every member vendor. OHSAS 18001 standart , which has been increasingly recognized and becoming a necessity in the sector, involves hazard identification and risk analysis as two main tools. In this thesis study, Work Health and Safety Management Standard OHSAS 18001 has been examined in detail, and a risk assesment process in a cement factory is explained.
