Prosocial behavior and student loyalty of students as a predictor of school climate: A research on high school students

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between high school students' commitment to school environment perceptions and prosocial behavior development. The universal scope of this research, which is conducted in the form of relational screening model, was achieved by high school students located in the center of Malatya province that are educated in the 2018-2019 academic year. The research was conducted on 1406 students studying in different high school areas. The data of the study were collected by using the School Climate Scale, Student Loyalty Scale and Positive Social Behavior Scale. Percentage, mean, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis techniques were used for data analysis. In the study, the sub-dimensions of the school climate scale; it was determined that there was a negative relationship between altruism sub-dimension of positive social behaviors and positive correlation among student loyalty and prosocial beahvior scales. As a result of multiple regression analysis, it was determined that school climate significantly predicted students' commitment and positive social behavior. At the end of the study, suggestions were made to policy makers, practitioners and researchers
