Examining the opinions of school principals and teachers on educational philosophies, administrative understandings and behaviors adopted by school principals

The purpose of this research; It is the determination of the reflections of the educational philosophies adopted by school principals on their managerial behavior in school management processes. In line with this main purpose, first of all, the educational philosophies adopted by school principals and their managerial behavior in school management are examined in line with the opinions of school principals and teachers. The data of the study, in which qualitative research methods were applied, were obtained with a semi-structured interview form. Prepared interview form; It was applied to school principals and teachers working in kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and high schools in the province of Osmaniye in the 2020-2021 academic year, and the data obtained were analyzed with the descriptive analysis method. At the end of the research, the school principals themselves; what they consider as democratic and egalitarian, innovative, supportive and collaborative, just and mutually communicative managers with a management understanding; Teachers, on the other hand, regarded principals as humanist, egalitarian, participatory, democratic, transparent and fair management. In the administrative sense, it is understood that school principals have an attitude that tries to give everyone a voice, tries to be respectful to the opinions and thoughts of others, and takes care to get the opinions of the stakeholders.
