The effect of school principals' mental well-being levels on individual and organizational performances: An embedded mixed methods research

This study aimed to examine the impact of school principals' mental well-being levels on their individual and organizational performance with an intertwined mixed method; The study was carried out with a total of 346 school principals, including primary school, secondary school and high school, in the quantitative dimension, and 15 school principals in the qualitative dimension. In the quantitative dimension, the relationship between school principals' mental well-being and performance levels was examined using Pearson Moments Correlation analysis. In order to determine whether mental well-being levels predicted individual and organizational performances, Regression Analysis was performed and the analysis results were included in the research. In the qualitative dimension, individual interviews were conducted with 15 school principals on a voluntary basis, and the data collected regarding the school principals' views on the impact of their mental well-being on their individual and organizational performance was used to understand and interpret the quantitative data and make them more understandable. As a result of the research, it was concluded that there was a positive and significant relationship between the mental well-being of school principals and their individual and organizational performances, and that mental well-being had a high impact on the performance of school principals.
