Okul Öncesi Dönem Çocuklarında Sorun Davranışların Anne Baba ve Öğretmen Görüşleri Açısından İncelenmesi

This study was meant to analyze parents and teachers perception of pre-school children relating to social compatability, anxiety and aggressive behavior. The participants included 497 chidren, 32-79 months of age enrolled in preschool programs and 39 preschool teachers. Sampling conducted in the districts of İskele, Lefkoşa, Gazimağusa, Girne and Güzelyurt in North Cyprus. Simple random sampling method has been used in this study. The Social Competence and Behavioral Assesment Scale was used to identify behavioral problems of children and filled by teachers and parents. Demographic variables of participants obtained by information forms prepared by researcher. In the analysis of data, SPSS 18 package data program was used. The study has revealed that, parents think that there is no significant difference in levels of aggression between children in the age groups of 3.5-5 and 5 -6.5. However, teachers believe that there is a difference in levels of agression between the age groups of 3.5 -5 and 5 -6.5. According to teachers, children in the age group of 5-6.5 are more likely to demonstrate aggressive behaviour than children in age group of 3.5-5 In addition, teachers believe that children in the age group of 3.5-5 are more socially competent than children in the age group of 5-6.5. Parents believe that there is not any significant difference in social competency between age groups. The study has also found that, teachers think there is no difference in levels of anxiety between age groups. On the contrary, parents believe children in age group of 5-6.5 have higher levels of anxiety. There is no relation could be found between levels of anxiety and education background of parents. Lastly, it was found that there is a vast difference between the attidutes of teachers and parents regarding assestment of children behaviour. It was recommended that, in order to overcome problems that might caused by above mentioned differences, researchers should employ the methods of observation and interview. This study can be repeated with multiple data obtained by the methods of observation and interview. Key Words: Preschool education, behavioral problems, child behaviour
