Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the newspaper perception of preschool children whit focus group research. Research samples were consist of 28 children. If conducted on 2 different kindergartens with participation of educating nursery classes of Sakarya Province Arifiye District Kazım Karabekir İÖO and Karaman Province Yavuz Sultan Selim İÖO at 2010-2011 academic year.When the data were analyzed it was established that preschool children, interestingly, have a negative perception of newspaper because of the news related with death, accident and natural disasters. The newspaper perception of the children don?t changes depending on neighbor head. The children interviewed expected newspapers to see attractive pictures, puzzles, stories and to contain cartoon CD?s. At the end of the interview, the children were used positive news when the class newspaper was produced from the daily newspapers.Key words: Preschool period, Preschool children, Newspapers
