Abstract (EN)

In pre-school foundations which prepare children who will be the adults of the future for public, the self-care skills which the children are made to acquire will secure to bring them up as healthy individuals and lay the groundwork for them to be individuals who are independent in the future, self-sufficient, compatible with the public, having positive behaviours The goal of this study is to identify the effects of teaching 6 years old children who are attending pre-school education the self-care by games on children?s acquisitions when it?s compared to the traditional education. This study has been carried out with the participation of 40 children who are at the age of six and attending a nursery school. In this study ?a Pre-Test with a Control Group ? a Last Test Model? have been used. After the experiment and kontrol groups were identified, ? Self-Care Skills Evaluation Scales? have been applied by the teachers of the two groups. For eight weeks, a skill education which involves sixteen games have been applied to the children in the experiment groups. The daily education schedule of the control groups have not been interrupted in any way. After the schedule application of 8 weeks, the same scale have been applied again to the experiment and control groups as the last test and the obtained data have been analyzed and evaluated. It has been observed that children in the group to whom ?Education Schedule with Games? has been applied have shown a meaningful increase, when the results have been evaluated according to the test of Mann Whitney U, in the last test points they got from the sub-scales of the self-care skills evaluation scales such as ?being able to administer the cleanup rules, being able to put on and take off their clothes, being able to realize the importance of the right aliment, being able to protect themselves from the accidents and dangers? when it is compared to the last test points of the same scale of the children in the control groups. For the pre-test and last test points of the children in the experiment group, a meaningful difference has been obtained for the every dimension of the scale according to the results of Wilcoxon marked series test. However, according to the results that have been obtained during the comparison of the pre-test and last test points of the children in the control group, a meaningful difference has been determined in the sub-dimension of the scale which is about the skill of protecting themselves from the accidents and dangers, but any meaningful difference has not been encountered in the other four dimensions.
