Abstract (EN)
SUMMARYThis study is done to research the effects of the parent involvement studiescarried out in pre-school educational institutions on maternal behaviours and itseffects on the views of the mothers about pre-school education.The exemplary of the study has been formed by the experiment group thatcomposes of a pre-school educational institution, which is located on ÇankayaDistrict, Ankara in 2004-2005 Education and Instruction year, has administeredparent involvement studies limitedly with only parent meetings and 45 children from5-6 age group educated in this institution and their mothers and smilarly the controlgroup that composes of a pre-school educational institution which is situated insimilar socio-economic and cultural environment, has applied parent involvementstudies limitedly with only parent meetings and 45 children from 5-6 age groupeducated in this institution and their mothers. These ninety mothers have totalyformed the exemplary group of the study.The study design is consisted of pre-test, post-test and control grouptechniques. Parent Involvement Programme has been prepored to be applied formothers in the experiment group by the researcher. As for the control group anyinvolvement study has not been carried out.?Pool Form About Mother?s Children and The Institution They Are EducatedIn?, ?Personal Information Form? and ?Hamel Mother?s Attitude Test? that is used todetermine the wievs of mothers. These two forms and the test are given to mothers inthe experiment group as pre-test before ?Parent Involvement Programme? and aspost-test after the programme has been applied. Same forms and the test have beenapplied for the control group as pre-test and post-test. S.P.S.S 12.0 programme isemployed in the analysis of the data obtanied.In the disintegrations of frequency and percentage between pre-test and post-test for the experiment group about the mothers? views related to pre-schooleducation in the study. It is found that the information of the mothers about theprogramme in the nursery school has increased, mothers have known their childrenbetter and they have given better information about their children. In the pre-test andpost-test for the control group, it is seen that there has not been any informationabout mothers? children and the nursery school they are educated in and thisinformation hasn?t changed.According to post-test results for experiment and control groups in HamelMother?s Attitude Test, it has been established that there is a meaningful differencein terms of outhoritarian, democratic and inconsistent attitude (p<0.05). As to thepre-test and post-test results for the experiment group, it has been found that there isa meaningful difference in terms of outhoritarian, democrative, over-protective andinconsistent attidude.
