Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to determine the most appropriate tool in terms of reliability by comparing the measurement tools used by preschool teachers practicing their profession in Sakarya city for performance evaluation. Descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The research data were obtained from the data collection tools that 8 preschool teachers working in Adapazarı Kindergarten in Adapazarı district of Sakarya province in the 2023-2024 academic year scored 121 students for an outcome-indicator selected from the Social Emotional Development and Values Area in the Project for Increasing Quality and Access in Early Childhood Education - Preschool Education Program. Translated with DeepL.com (free version) Three forms developed by the researcher, namely "Pre-Scoring Tool, Checklist, Graded Scoring Tool" were used in the study. In the analysis of the data, variance values based on the Generalizability Theory were calculated with the EduG program. As a result of the research, it was seen that the pre-scoring tool for the general opinion of the teacher used for performance evaluation in preschool education was not reliable, the checklists were reliable, but the graded scoring tool had the highest reliability. As a result of the research, suggestions were made such as using a checklist or graded scoring tool rather than using personal judgment in performance evaluation and providing in-service training to teachers on this issue.
