Preschool teacher candidates' perception of the attitude of parents, the relationship between critical thinking and problem solving skills

The purpose of this research is to examine the Relationship between Preschool teacher candidates ' Parents Attitudes, critical thinking and Problem solving Skills. Research was conducted in the academic year of 2011-2012. Study group of the research consists of one university chosen from seven regions in Turkey and the research was carried out 277 who were students in the last class pre-school teacher training faculties of universities. Relational model was used in this study. To determine the personal characteristics of the teacher candidates "Personal Information Form", other variables to "Problem Solving Inventory", "Critical Thinking Scale" and "Parental Attitude Scale" were used. The data obtained in this study using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) were analyzed using the program for Windows 21.0 Evaluating the data, descriptive statistical methods (number, percentage, mean, standard deviation) were used. The difference between the two groups for comparison of quantitative data, t-test, in case of more than two groups in the parameters of the intergroup comparison Unidirectional (One way) ANOVA test and Turkey's post hoc test to detect differences in the cause of the group was used. The relationship between the dependent and independent variables of the study were tested with Pearson's product-moment correlation analysis and linear regression analysis. According to the findings of the research; pre-school teachers' perceptions of parental attitudes, gender and parental education level don't show any differences, while Mother's education level, varying according to age and income level of teachers. Critical thinking does not differ by no demographic characteristics Problem solving skills: do not show any differences by gender and parental education level; the age of the teachers are differentiated according to maternal educational level and income level. Critical thinking, meaningful relationships between parental attitudes and problem-solving skills have been identified. It is analyzed that teacher candidates' critical thinking skills with parents in a positive relationship between perceptions of democratic attitudes, problem solving skills and general all sub-dimensions were determined by the parents is a positive relationship between perceptions of democratic attitudes Again, the general problem solving skills and hasty approach, thinking approach, avoidant approach, with a confident approach and planned approach to protecting and subscales were found to be a negative relationship between the authoritarian attitude of parents' perceptions. Based on these findings, suggestions were made to practitioners and researchers.
