Investigation of the Relationship Between Multiple Intelligence Areas and Creativity Levels of Preschool Teacher Candidates

Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between pre-school teacher candidates' multiple intelligence areas and their creativity levels. In accordance with this purpose, descriptive method based on scanning model was used in the research. In the research, a study group was formed with a total of 489 students who are in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades of the Uludag University Education Faculty Preschool Education Department in the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. In the study, it was examined whether there is a significant relationship between the multiple intelligence areas of preschool teacher candidates and their creativity levels. The relational screening model was used in the research, and the personal information form was used to prepare the pre-school teacher candidates, the creativity scale "How creative are you?" adapted into Turkish by Çoban (1999), and the creativity scale of the individuals by Sabin (2001). Multiple Intelligences inventory, a likert-style scale developed to explore multiple intelligence areas, was applied. Personal information form, 'How creative are you?' Quantitative data obtained from the creativity scale and multiple intelligence inventory were analyzed with SSPS (Statistics Program for Social Sciences).The qualitative data obtained were analyzed in the SPSS program and the determined problem, sub- problems and frequency values were tabulated. As a result; it was concluded that there was a difference in favor of male teacher candidates according to the creativity scores of school teacher candidates. It was concluded that the creativity scores of the student group, which was the primary education, were high. At the same time, it was concluded that primary school pre-school teacher candidates had higher scores for all intelligence domains. How creative are the pre-school teacher candidates in the research? scale scores; gender, age group, type of education, class, number of siblings and sibling rank, education level of parents, age of parents, profession of mother and father, arts, sports, etc. It was determined that there is a positive and significant relationship between the creativity scores of the preschool teacher candidates participating in the research and the multiple intelligence types. According to the teaching school, primary education pre-school teachers' candidates and positive scores are higher. The state of being interested in arts and sports has a high effect on the creativity and multiple intelligence scores of teacher candidates. In addition to this situation, it was found that the creativity and multiple intelligence scores of the children whose parents were not alive were higher.
