Analysing of the relationship between prospective preschool teachers' music adequacy and emotional intelligence level

In this survey, the relationship between prospective preschool teachers? music adequacyand emotional intelligence level is analysed. Research working group consists of 220preschool teacher university students, 110- class 3, 110- class 4, from three differentuniversities. The datum of the research is obtained by two different datum gathering toolcalled music adequacy scale and emotional Intelligence scale. Analyzing the data which isobtained through datum gathering tools in the research is performed by using SPSS 15package program in a computer environment. According to the findings obtained, arelationship between their level of music adequacy and emotional intelligence is found. It isnoticed that prospective preschool teachers? emotional intelligence prospective preschoolteachers? emotional intelligence explains %5 of their general knowledge of music, %7 of theknowledge of sound education, %4 of their knowledge of the instrument education andinstrument knowledge level, %2 of their knowledge level of children songs and %7 of theirmusic teaching knowledge level.Key Words: Preschool Education, music education, emotional intelligence.
