Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study; to evaluate the perceptions of teacher acceptance-rejection children in the age group of 6 years of preschool, Early Childhood Parental Acceptance Rejection Scale: Child Short Form developed by Rohner and Giotsa (2012) Preschool Teacher Acceptance Rejection Scale: Child Short Form (6 years old) to adapt to Turkish, to make validity and reliability. This research was contucted as a descriptive survey model. The sample was consisted of 400 preschool children and 18 preschool teacher who attended private 4 kindergartens and 3 public kindergartens from Ümraniye and Bağcılar places in İstanbul. In this research, Preschool Teacher Acceptance Rejection Scale: Child Short Form (6 years old) and Parent Confirmation Form, which was adapted to Turkish by the researcher and whose validity and reliability studies were made, were applied. The scale consists of 23 items with a four-point Likert option. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis applied, the scale showed a structure of 4 factors. These factors are warmth/affection, hostility/aggression, carelessness/negligence and undifferentiated rejection, respectively. For reliability analysis, item-total score, Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient and time invariance coefficient were evaluated. The consistency coefficients were .89 for the entire scale and .82 for raw warmth/affection for the subscales, .92 for hostility/aggression, .71 for indifference/negligence, and .79 for undifferentiated rejection. The findings of the study show that the scale can measure the teacher acceptance perceptions of 6 year old preschool children in a valid and reliable manner. Keywords: Acception and rejection, preschool education, validity and reliability
