Investigation of preschool teachers' attitudes towards values education and children's rights

The aim of the study was to examine the attitudes of preschool teachers towards values education and children's rights. The population of the research is affiliated with the Ministry of Education in the center and districts of Çankırı province; It consists of pre-school teachers working in public/private kindergartens and kindergartens. In the research, sample selection was made and all teachers were tried to be reached. In this regard, a total of 150 preschool teachers, who filled out the data collection tools completely and participated in the research voluntarily, constituted the sample of the research. The data of the research were collected with the "Personal Information Form", "Attitude Scale towards Values Education" and "Attitude Scale towards Children's Rights". Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis and Spearman Correlation tests were used to analyze the research data. As a result of the research, preschool teachers' attitudes towards values education are determined according to the institution they work in, the frequency of receiving training on values education and children's rights, finding the values education in the program sufficient, and the frequency of including values and children's rights education in classroom activities; It was found that their attitudes towards children's rights differed significantly depending on the institution they worked for, receiving education on values and children's rights, finding the values education included in the program sufficient, and the frequency of including values and children's rights education in classroom activities (p <.05). Additionally, it was determined that there was a positive and significant relationship between the values education of preschool teachers and children's rights (p <.05).
