The relationship between preschool teachers' educational beliefs and teaching methods they base and the opportunities to use them

This research is a mixed and descriptive study based on determining the relationship between preschool teachers' educational beliefs, which are generelly discussed in the literature as their approaches to the phenomenon of education, their perceptions of the concept of education and their approaches to the teaching process, which we assume to occur with in this framework and the teaching methods they prefer in this process and opportunities to use these methods. This study carried out in 2022-2023 Academic year with the participation of 123 pre-school teachers working in central parts of Bolu. In the quantitative part of the research, "Educational Beliefs Scale" developed by "Yılmaz vd. (2011)"; In the qualitative part, a semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher was used. By analyzing the data, the educational philosophy orientations of pre-school teachers and their closeness to educational beliefs were identified. The compatibility of these orientations with the educational philosophy on which the MEB Pre-school Program is based was examined, and then comparisons were made according to variables such as the teaching methods they use in their practices and the opportunities to use these methods. The results were amplified by conducting various interviews about the findings. As a result of the research, several suggestions were made to educators, researchers and programmers.
