Abstract (EN)

This study mainly aims to detect the sports performance rate of the student takingplace in the school team and the factors affecting the their performance.This study depends on the student who study in both public schools and privateschools, that are affiliated to the Ministry of Education, in the centre of the city of Van andwho do activities in both school and club teams.The study is made of questionnaires which are filled after the students are questionedone by one in person.The data were analysed by using the techniques such as frequency (f) per cent (%) andsquare (X2) in accordance with their field of use. The analyses were done by using theStatistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program.During the study, it was seen that the activity rate of the student who did activities islow. That the number of clubs is less, the existing ones are not economically supportedenough , there is not enough infrastructure and positive understanding for sports and thelack of factors to encourage the students to do sports are the main reason why theparticipation rate is low. The clubs ordinarily consist of the teams. For girls, they only consistof handball, football and basketball and volleyball teams. Students also face some problemsat school: It is seen that there are not enough facilities and materials, students are notsupported enough by their families, the administration of the school and their other teachersapart from their physical education teachers. Most of the student choose the department ofphysical education and continue to do sports when they to university. The is encouraging andit gives pleasure.
